Kidney Cleanse*

Prepare a tea mix with equal parts of the following herbs:

One Ounce of:
Cat's claw
Comfrey root

Plus two ounces of:
Uva Ursi (barberry)
Hydrangea Root
Gravel Root (Queen of the Meadow)
Fennel seed
Marshmallow Root
Golden Rod herb

Mix all of the dried herbs together in an airtight container well.

To prepare the tea, take 3 tablespoons of the loose tea and soak it in 2 cups of water overnight (preferably distilled or filtered). In the morning bring the tea to a boil, strain and sip half of the tea on an empty stomach between breakfast and lunch and then the other half between lunch and dinner.

You do not want to chug this if you can avoid it - you want it to gradually filter through your liver and kidneys. Do this for 6-7 days and take a 2 day break and then repeat for 30 days.

If you forget to soak the herbs overnight you can bring it to a boil in the morning and gently simmer for 10-15 minutes. You can also bring it to a boil the night before and let the plant mixture soak in the hot water overnight.

If you wish to make less (because this will be enough to last for 4-6 one week cleanses) simply cut everything in half. Also note that it may be difficult to find all of the herbs in loose form. If you cannot find one inexpensively in loose form, simply buy a tincture bottle of the herbs you are missing and add a dropperful to the tea once it is boiling hot to burn off the alcohol in the tincture.
